Hardik Pandya is under pressure since the first match of the Indian Premier League 2024. He is facing flak for replacing Rohit Sharma as Mumbai Indians captain. The fans have slammed him at all the venues. The hostile reception at the Wankhede Stadium has impacted him the best as the all-rounder was expecting support from the home fans.
The situation has gone out of hands with Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli urging the fans to support Hardik as he is one of the Indian players. Former India player Irfan Pathan thinks Hardik will have to calm himself and start performing without giving importance to the noise.
“Hardik Pandya is not the first or the last player to get criticised. He will have to understand that and move on. His main aim is to lead the Mumbai Indians from the front. Hardik’s performance hasn’t been upto the mark and he needs to contribute with the bat and ball. There are speculations that he could lose his place in the Indian team if he doesn’t bowl.
“Hardik Pandya has to relax himself. He is getting the support from Rohit and Jasprit Bumrah in all the games. Others are also backing him,” Irfan Pathan said.
Mumbai have lost four matches while they have won just two. Their victories have come in Mumbai.
