The first match of Sunrisers Hyderabad in IPL 2025 is with Rajasthan Royals. This match is to play the Orange Army on its home ground. When SRH's team goes to play this match, this will be the first time after 40 months when Bhuvneshwar Kumar will not be with him. Due to the exit of Bhuvneshwar Kumar from SRH's team, his IPL is to join another franchise in 2025. In IPL 2025, Bhuvi is playing with RCB and that is why it is not a part of Sunrisers Hyderabad.
The last match on the IPL pitch was played by Sunrisers Hyderabad on 8 October 2021 without Bhuvneshwar Kumar. The match was with Mumbai Indians, in which Sunrisers had to face defeat by 47 runs. This is the second time after the match played 40 months ago or say that 1261 days ago, the second time the Sunrisers team will be on the ground of Bhuvi's IPL. So will the result of the match against Rajasthan Royals be the same as it was in the match played against Mumbai Indians 40 months ago?
Bhuvneshwar Kumar has separated from this franchise after being a part of Sunrisers Hyderabad for 10 years. He was associated with this team from 2014 to 2024. However, the franchise for IPL 2025 did not retain Bhuvneshwar Kumar. And, when he bid in the mega auction, Royal Challengers Bangalore won it. He bought Bhavneshwar Kumar for Rs 10.75 crore.
Bhuvneshwar Kumar has played 176 matches in the IPL so far, in which he has taken 181 wickets. He has scored 147 wickets in these 181 wickets in the last 11 IPL season played for Sunrisers Hyderabad. Bhuvneshwar Kumar's best performance for Sunrisers was in IPL 2017, when he took 26 wickets in 14 matches. This is also the best performance done so far in a season of his IPL. In the IPL career, Bhubaneswar has taken 20 or more wickets in 3 seasons so far and he has played all three seasons for Sunrisers Hyderabad.
