Chennai Super Kings captain Ruturaj Gaikwad has been ruled out of the Indian Premier League 2025 due to an elbow fracture. MS Dhoni will lead the five-time champions for the remaining part of the 18th season. Gaikwad played the previous contest against the Punjab Kings.

However, the team failed to cross the finishing line. Chennai have lost four consecutive matches in the ongoing edition with their only win coming against Mumbai Indians.
