Punjab Kings (PBKS) captain Shreyas Iyer was seen having an animated conversation with Chennai Super Kings (CSK) pacer Khaleel Ahmed after their IPL 2025 match, sparking plenty of chatter online. Although the exact words weren’t clear, the video quickly went viral and led to speculation among fans on social media.

The match, which took place in Mullanpur on Tuesday, 8th April, saw PBKS emerge victorious over CSK by a margin of 18 runs. Khaleel Ahmed played a key role, dismissing Iyer for just nine runs off seven balls.

Iyer went for a big shot without proper footwork, and the ball crashed into the off stump.

After the game, emotions seemed high as Iyer and Khaleel were caught on camera in what looked like a tense moment. Many viewers believed it was a confrontation, though the reason behind the exchange is still unknown.

This isn’t the first time Khaleel has been involved in such a situation. Earlier in the tournament, he had a similar moment with RCB’s Virat Kohli following a defeat.

Khaleel has enjoyed a good record against Iyer in the IPL, dismissing him three times in seven encounters while conceding only 33 runs in 24 balls.

PBKS posted a total of 219/6, setting a target of 220. Priyansh Arya made an explosive 103 from 42 balls. He brought up his century in a mere 39 balls. Shashank Singh (52 off 36) and Marco Jansen (34 off 19) added 65 runs.

While chasing the target, Chennai Super Kings got off to a solid start as openers Rachin Ravindra (36 from 23) and Devon Conway (69 from 49) put together a partnership of 61 runs. Ravindra was dismissed by Maxwell, and Ruturaj Gaikwad fell for just one run. Conway and Shivam Dube (42 from 27), contributed 89 runs before Dube was dismissed by Ferguson.

MS Dhoni amassed 27 runs off 12 balls. Conway, who was struggling in the middle, was retired out. CSK managed 201/5 in the allotted 20 overs.
