Hardik Pandya was seen shedding tears after Mumbai Indians defeated Delhi Capitals by 12 runs in the IPL 2025. He sat alone in the dugout to come to terms with the fast phase action that folded in the last few years of Delhi’s chase. The last three batters of the hosts were run out on a score of 193 runs. Chasing 206, Karun Nair (89 runs) kept the team in front, but his dismissal scripted the memorable comeback of the Men in Blue in an away match.
Hardik, who is under pressure because of the defeats of the team, got relief at last.
The all-rounder decided to spend some time alone instead of getting involved in the celebration.Former India opener Virender Sehwag, who watched the action, called Hardik’s emotions tears of joy. “‘They are tears of joy. Let him cry and let the emotions come out. It was a lost match for Mumbai Indians, but they managed to stun Delhi in Delhi,” he said.
“The ball change and the dismissal of KL Rahul and Tristan Stubbs changed the game, and the remaining work was done by three run-outs. It ended Delhi’s chances of winning the game,” he added.
Karn Yadav, who took three wickets, was named the Player of the Match. Delhi suffered its first defeat from five matches, while Mumbai registered its second win from six contests.
