Delhi: Mumbai Indians defeated Rajasthan Royals (RR) by 100 runs in a crucial match of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025, it was Mumbai's third biggest win in IPL history in terms of runs. The foundation of this victory was laid by the batsmen, where openers Rohit Sharma and Ryan Ricelton scored a half -century. After his dismissal, Suryakumar Yadav and Hardik Pandya scored 48-48 runs batting quickly and Mumbai batted first and scored a huge score of 217 runs.

The Rajasthan team started chasing the target very poorly. Batsman Vaibhav Suryavanshi, who scored a century in the last match, could not even open an account this time, while Yashasvi Jaiswal scored 13 runs in 6 balls. Middle order flopped once again, where Nitish Rana scored 9 runs, Ryan Parag scored 16 runs, Dhruv Juril scored 11 runs and Shimron Hetmyer account was dismissed without opening.

Rajasthan lost 5 wickets in the powerplay itself and after that two more wickets fell soon, due to which the direction of the match was fixed. After the match, Rajasthan's acting captain Ryan Parag reacted to the defeat and praised Mumbai's batting. He also admitted that his team gave more runs than expected.

Ryan Parag said, “We have to give credit, the way Mumbai batted. He maintained the run rate in the beginning, played at an average of 10 runs per over and finally scored fast. Talking about our batting, it was not our day today. The target of 190-200 would not have been ideal, but Hardik and Surya Bhai finally changed the gear. We could do some things better, but we have to accept some things.”

He further said, “We are starting well, but the middle order, such as me and Dhruv will have to take responsibility when the wickets fall in the powerplay. But, we trust ourselves, if such a situation comes again, we will be ready for him.”
