Mumbai Indians Trashes Rajasthan by 100 Runs to Secure Sixth Consecutive Win

A collective performance from the batting and bowling unit helped Mumbai Indians secure a 100-run victory in the IPL 2025 game against Rajasthan Royals on May 01 at Sawai Mansingh Stadium.

After a brilliant batting display, Bowlers went on to pick wickets in quick succession, helping the side to get their sixth consecutive victory.

Despite having a poor start, they went on to win six straight games to secure top place in the IPL 2025 points table.

Batting first, Mumbai Indians openers Rohit Sharma and Ryan Rickelton have given a strong start, scoring 58 runs in the powerplay.

The duo went on to make a 100+ run partnership for the first wicket, scoring fifties each, giving a massive boost for the side in Thursday’s clash.

Ryan Rickelton smashed his fifty on 29 deliveries, which included 6 fours and two sixes. Meanwhile, Rohit Sharma‘s fifty came in 31 deliveries.

However, Rickelton lost his wicket to Theekshana for 61 runs which included 7 fours and 3 sixes. Rohit Sharma got dismissed in the very next over by Riyan Parag for 53 runs which included 9 fours.

However, Suryakumar Yadav and Hardik Pandya went on to keep the momentum scoring unbeaten 48 on 23 deliveries each while completing Mumbai Indians’s innings.

In the pursuit of chasing 218 runs, Yashasvi Jaiswal and Suryavanshi opened the innings while Trent Boult opened the bowling attack.

Rajasthan Royals’ top order has collapsed after a fierce bowling attack from Mumbai Indians. They went on to lose the wickets of Suryavanshi, Jaiswal, Nitish Rana, Riyan Parag and Shimron Hetmyer within the powerplay.

However, they managed to score 62 runs in their six overs. After the dismissal of Shubam Dubey and Dhruv Jurel for 15 and 11, Rajasthan slipped down to last three wickets for 76.

Karn Sharma who came as impact player, went on to bag the wickets of Dhruv Jurel, Theekshana and Kumar Karthikeya quickening their march towards victory.

Jofra Archer who tried to hold on the innings, scored 30 runs before being dismissed by Boult in the 17th over. Rajsthan Royals went on to lose all 10 wickets for scoring 117 runs.

Trent Boult and Karn Sharma picked three wickets each while Bumrah had two wickets. Deepak Chahar and Karn Sharma made their contribution picking one wicket each.

Their defeat means Rajasthan will be the second team to be eliminated out of the tournament after CSK.
