Suyash Sharma, a promising leg-spinner, thanked Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) for their support during his hernia recovery process. According to him, the injury was serious and he was not sure if participating in the Indian Premier League 2025.

Suyash Sharma entered the IPL in 2023 with Kolkata Knight Riders, where he played for two seasons. In the mega auction, Royal Challengers Bengaluru signed him for INR 2.60 crore. He has taken 14 wickets from 22 IPL games. He also revealed that there was a time when he had to depend on injections.

“I was overjoyed, genuinely happy. I knew joining RCB gave me an opportunity. I have training consistently, especially for the past two years. I was in pain and relied on injections. We weren’t sure what was wrong as the exact issue wasn’t clear,” Suyash said.

“RCB arranged for my surgery in London, where I was under the observation of James Pipey. He and his family treated me like their own son. I was not sure of playing the first match. The initial recommendation was to wait for a few games.

“But James looked after me and I made a speedy recovery,” he added.

In the 2025 IPL season, Suyash Sharma has appeared in nine matches, taking four wickets at an economy rate of 7.97. His best performance came against PBKS on April 20, where he picked up 2 wickets for 26 runs.
