Shubman Gill and Jos Buttler have continued to dominate Sunrisers Hyderabad despite Gujarat losing the wicket of Sai Sudharsan in the IPL 2025 game played on May 02 at Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad.
Batting first, Sai Sudharsan and Shubman Gill opened the innings while Mohammed Shami opened the bowling attack.
The duo went on to score 82 runs in the powerplay and continued their onslaught against Hyderabad.
However, Zeeshan Ansari got the necessary breakthrough picking the wicket of Sudharsan for 48 runs which included 9 fours. But SRH’s efforts went on vain as Gill along with Buttler went on for aggressive boundaries at Ahmedabad.
Meanwhile, Gill went on to score fifty on 25 deliveries which included five fours and 1 sixes.
Speaking at the toss, SRH captain Pat Cummins said, “We will have a bowl. You never really what you will get. Sometimes it is better to bat at night.”
“We won our first game at CSK’s venue. Hopefully the trend continues here as well. If we win all our games, we still have a chance. We haven’t quite clicked as a team. Last couple of games, we have done better. Same team,” said Cummins.
Meanwhile, GT captain Shubman Gill said, “We would have bowled first as well. Looks like a good wicket. Last game here we played against Mumbai, we batted first as well. The season has been pretty good for us. Nothing changes us for us.”
“This is the time when good team peaks. We are not really looking at the NRR. We are looking to see each game as it is. We have one change. Gerald Coetzee comes in for Karim Janat,” concluded Gill.
