The match was played at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bangalore, where RCB scored 213 runs in 20 overs while batting first, in response to which C SK team could score 211 runs in 20 overs.

Another special record was made in this match, when star batsman Virat Kohli broke David Warner's big record. The right -handed batsman became the player to score 500+ runs in one season the most in IPL history. Virat now has a record of scoring 500 or more runs in a season 8 times.
