In the 53rd match of IPL 2025 played at Eden Gardens in Kolkata, Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) won the toss and scored 206 runs for 4 wickets in 20 overs. In response, the Rajasthan Royals (RR) team could score 205 runs for 8 wickets in 20 overs and lost the match by one run.
In the first innings, Andre Russell batted for KKR, scoring an unbeaten 57 off 25 balls, including 4 fours and 5 sixes. Apart from him, Angkrish Raghuvanshi scored 44, Rahmanullah Gurbaz scored 35 and captain Ajinkya Rahane scored 30 runs. For Rajasthan, Jofra Archer, Yudhveer Singh Charak, Mahish Tishta and captain Ryan Parag took one wicket each.
Chasing a target of 207 runs, Rajasthan started very poorly. The team lost two wickets on the score of 9 runs. Vaibhav Suryavanshi (4) and Kunal Singh Rathore (0) were dismissed early. From here, Yashasvi Jaiswal and captain Ryan Parag took over the innings and shared a fifty partnership for the third wicket. Yashasvi was dismissed for 34 runs.
After this, Rajasthan's innings suffered a major setback when Varun Chakraborty took two wickets in the eighth over and dismissed Dhruv Jurael and Vanindu Hasranga. At one time Rajasthan lost 6 wickets around 100 runs, but captain Ryan Parag took the front.
Ryan Parag turned the match exciting in the 13th over with 5 consecutive sixes in Moin Ali's balls. After this, he also hit 6 sixes in 6 consecutive balls, hitting the next ball (Varun Chakraborty). He also completed a fifty partnership with Shimron Hetmyer.
However, Hetmyer (29) in the 16th over and then in the 18th over, Ryan Parag (95 runs, 45 balls, 6 fours, 8 sixes) were dismissed. In the end, Shubham Dubey (25*) and Jofra Archer (12) tried to win but the team missed a run.
Harshit Rana took two wickets in the last over for Kolkata and took two wickets and won the team. In bowling, Varun Chakraborty took 2, Moin Ali 2 and Harshit Rana also took 2 wickets.
