Punjab Kings registered a dominant 37-run win over Lucknow Super Giants at Dharamsala in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025. Prabhsimran Singh‘s explosive 91 off 48 balls set the tone for PBKS’ massive total of 236/5. In reply, despite a valiant effort by Ayush Badoni and Abdul Samad during the chase, LSG faltered early due to Arshdeep Singh’s opening spell. The win helped PBKS keep their playoff hopes alive with two points as they reached second in the points table. Lucknow, on the other hand, will rue another top-order collapse in a high-scoring game.

Prabhsimran Singh’s blitz and Shreyas Iyer’s force power Punjab Kings to 236 at Dharamsala

Punjab rode on an electrifying knock from Prabhsimranwho smashed 91 off 48 balls with 7 sixes and 6 fours. Despite an early loss of Priyansh Arya, Josh Inglis (30 off 14) kept the tempo high. Skipper Shreyas Iyer chipped in with a fluent 45, while Shashank Singh (33 not out off 15) and Marcus Stoinis (15 unbeaten off 5) delivered a fiery finish. PBKS maintained a run rate of nearly 12 throughout, capitalizing on poor spells from Mayank Yadavwho gave 60 runs in his 4 overs and Avesh Khanwho was hammered for 57 in his four overs. Digvesh Rathi and Akash Singh were the only wicket-takers with two each, but they couldn’t prevent the carnage. PBKS ended with a mammoth 236/5, the highest total at Dharamsala this season.

Arshdeep Singh’s fiery start sinks LSG despite Ayush Badoni’s fight

LSG’s chase got off to a dreadful start, losing Mitchell Marsh, Aiden Markram and Nicholas pooran to Arshdeep inside the powerplay. Rishabh pant and David Miller couldn’t steady the innings, and LSG slumped to 73/5 by the 10th over. However, Badoni’s superb 74 off 40 and Samad’s 45 off 24 gave the visitors a flicker of hope with a 81-run stand. But Omarzai and Marco Jansen‘s crucial breakthroughs derailed the chase. Arshdeep’s spell of 3/16 in his allotted overs was instrumental, setting the tone early. LSG finished on 199/7, falling short by 37 runs in a chase that never truly took off after the early collapse.
