The Rajasthan Royals captain Riyan Parag’s knock went in vain as Kolkata Knight Riders secured a 1-run victory in the IPL 2025 game played on May 04 at Eden Gardens.

Parag went on to score 95 runs off 45 deliveries in the losing cause in their side’s 206-run chase.

Batting first, Rahamanullah Gurbaz and Sunil Narine opened the innings while Jofra Archer opened the bowling attack. Yudhvir Singh brought the early breakthrough by dismissing Narine for 11 runs. Rahane joined Gurbaz to score 56 runs in the powerplay.

Gurbaz scored 35 runs before being dismissed by Theekshana in the 8th over, while Rahane got dismissed by Riyan Parag for 30 runs in the 13th over.

However, Angkrish Raghuvanshi and Andre Russell brought stability in the middle order, smashing 44 and 57* respectively.

Raghuvanshi got dismissed by Jofra Archer in the 19th over where Rinku Singh joining Russell to score unbeaten 19 runs to score 206 runs in their innings.

In the pursuit of chasing 205 runs, Yashasvi Jaiswal and Vaibhav Suryavanshi opened the bowling attack. With the dismissal of Vaibhav Suryavanshi and Kunal Singh Rathore for 4 and 0 runs, Jaiswal and Riyan Parag went on to score 59 runs in the powerplay.

With Moeen Ali dismissing Yashasvi Jaiswal for 34 Runs, Varun Chakravarthy Went on to dismss Dhruv juel and wandu talk for duck. With Rajasthan Suffered Regular Dismissals, Riyan Parag Went on to Slam His Fifty.

Along with Shimron Hetmyer, they went on to cross 150-run mark in their run chase. After Harshit Rana dismissed Hetmyer for 29 runs, Shubham Dubey joined Parag to quicken the run chase.

However, Parag got dismissed by Harshit Rana in the 18th over, and Jofra Archer joined Shubham Dubey in the run chase.

With late knocks from Dubey and Jofra Archer, Rajasthan Royals was close to win the match but they scored only 205 runs in their 20 over innings.
