The Sunrisers Hyderabad captain Pat Cummins went on to impress with a stunning bowling display during the IPL 2025 game against Delhi Capitals on May 05 at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium.

He went on to dismiss Karun Nair, Faf du Plessis, and Abhishek Porel cheaply within the powerplay, collapsing the DC’s top order.

After choosing to bowl first, Pat Cummins opened the bowling attack, dismissing the opener Karun Nair in the first ball of the innings.

With Abhishek Porel joined Faf du Plessis on the crease, Cummins went on to bag the wicket of the other opener for 3 runs. By picking the wicket of Abhishek Porel for 8 runs, the SRH captain left Delhi tattered with losing three wickets for 15 runs.

Meanwhile, Harshal Patel, who bowled the last over of the powerplay, went on to bag the wicket of Axar Patel for 6 runs. By the end of powerplay, Delhi scored only 26/4.

KL Rahul who tried to anchor the innings, lost his wicket to Jaydev Unadkat for 10 runs leaving Delhi Capitals to struggle with 29/5. Ishan Kishan picked four catches of Karun Nair, Faf du Plessis, Abhishek Porel, and KL Rahul.

Speaking at the toss, SRH captain Pat Cummins said, “We’ll bowl. We’ve talked about a few things, haven’t had a complete game yet. Want to do the basics well.”

“It’s about giving yourself the chance, everyone’s a match-winner. We bat very deep. The support has been amazing, probably haven’t had the results we wanted but the crowd has been amazing. Buzzing around in the field, that’s one thing we can judge ourselves on,” concluded Pat Cummins.

Meanwhile, DC captain Axar Patel said, “Would’ve fielded first as well, looks like a good wicket and it shouldn’t change much. Will look to get a good score and restrict them. The last phase is here and these are must-win games.”

“We’ve tried to keep the environment light, we weren’t thinking about these things at the start of the tournament and we played well, want to go into these games with the same mindset and not let the situation pressure us,” he added.

“We’ve had different players contribute, we haven’t been dependant on one player. It’s important to continue the momentum. We want to have close games, even if we lose, we don’t want to lose by big margins. No changes,” concluded Axar Patel.
