IPL 2025: BCCI fined Hardik Pandya and Ashish Nehra, know the reason

New Delhi: On Tuesday, the Indian Premier League (IPL) played in an exciting match played in 2025, Gujarat Titans (GT) won the last ball by defeating Mumbai Indians (MI). However, after this match, disciplinary action has been taken against important celebrities associated with both teams.

Mumbai Indians captain Hardik Pandya has been fined Rs 24 lakh due to a slow over rate. This is the second time in the season, when Mumbai Indians have repeated the mistake for slow over speed. Other players of the team have also been fined 25% of the match fee or a maximum of ₹ 6 lakh, whichever is less.

The game stopped several times due to rain during the match. GT needed 15 runs in the final over to win, which he achieved on the last ball.

During this match, GT head coach Ashish Nehra was also warned by the match referee. After the rain, Nehra was seen arguing with the umpires over the delay in starting the game again. Due to this, he was fined 25% of the match fees and a demerit point was also given for violation of Article 2.0 of IPL's Code of Conduct. This is the second time in IPL history, when a coach has got a demerit point. Earlier, Delhi Capitals (DC) bowling coach Munaf Patel also received a similar punishment.

Significantly, apart from Hardik Pandya this season, many other players like Rishabh Pant, Shubman Gill, Akshar Patel, Sanju Samson, Rajat Patidar and Ryan Parag have also been fined in different matches.
