Royal Challengers Bengaluru’s star performer ruled out of IPL 2025, replacment announced

Royal Challengers Bengaluru’s star batter Devdutt Padikkal has been ruled out of the reminder of the Indian Premier League 2025. He picked up a hamstring injury and will not be able to recover. Mayank Agarwal, who has played for several franchises, replaced the injured cricketer.

“Royal Challengers Bengaluru have signed Mayank Agarwal as a replacement for injured Devdutt Padikkal for the reminder of the 18th season,” the IPL said in the statement.

RCB are second in the standings with 16 points from 11 matches.

Their next match is against Lucknow Super Giants on May 9.

In 10 matches for RCB, he scored 247 runs, including two fifties. His injury is a big setback for the franchise as they target top two finish.

Mayank, who has been signed for INR 1 crore, has played 127 matches in the Indian Premier League, scoring 2,661 runs. He has hit 1 hundred and 13 fifties so far. Known for his impressive batting, Mayank is expected to provide stability.
