The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has raised serious concerns regarding the safety of its players currently participating in thePakistan Super League (PSL). Notably, the BCB also confirmed that it is closely working with the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and the Bangladesh High Commission in Islamabad.
Geopolitical tension between India and Pakistan is set to hamper cricket tournaments, including PSL and IPL, in both nations. Meanwhile, two Bangladeshi players-leg-spinnerRishad Hossain (Lahore Qalandars) and fast bowler Nahid Rana (Peshawar Zalmi)-are actively involved in the PSL 2025 season.
Bangladesh is in Active Coordination with the Pakistan Cricket Board to Ensure Player Safety
The BCB is keeping an eye on the security situation in Pakistan, with player safety being its top concern.
In a statement released on Wednesday, the BCB said that it is working to ensure proper security arrangements for Bangladeshi cricketers currently participating in the PSL 2025.
"The BCB is in active coordination with the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and the Bangladesh High Commission in Islamabad to ensure that all necessary measures are in place to guarantee the security of our players," the board stated in a release.

The Bangladesh cricket team's upcoming five-match T20I series in Pakistan, scheduled to begin on May 25, is under serious doubt. Following India's recent airstrike - "Operation Sindoor" - Pakistan is reportedly preparing for possible retaliation, which has raised security concerns in the region.
BCB president Faruque Ahmed told Cricbuzz that they are closely monitoring the situation and will wait before making any final decision regarding the tour. He added that the board may reconsider its participation in the series depending on how the situation unfolds in the coming days.
"We are really working on the current situation (as far as going to Pakistan for the T20I series) and it can wait for another three to four days," said Faruque. "Let's see how it progress but at the moment our main concern is regarding the two players (Nahid Rana and Rishad Hossain) who are currently in Pakistan playing in the PSL."
ECB to Follow Foreign Office Guidance on English Players' Participation in IPL and PSL
Saj Sadiq, a sports journalist from Pakistan, shared that the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) will rely on advice from the Foreign Office and consult with security teams when it comes to the safety of English players in the IPL and PSL.
However, he emphasized that the final decision on whether players stay in India or Pakistan for the tournaments will be up to the players themselves.
"Regarding English players at the IPL and PSL, the ECB will follow Foreign Office guidance and speak to their security teams. But ultimately it's the players' decision if they stay in India and Pakistan for the tournaments #Cricket," Saj Sadiq wrote on X (formerly known as Twitter).
