Dewald Brevis, Shivam Dube Anchors Innings During Run Chase Against Kolkata

After suffering early dismissals, Chennai Super Kings went on to rebuild innings after Dewald Brevis and Shivam Dube’s impressive partnership.

CSK lost five wickets for 60 runs within the powerplay during the 180-run chase in the IPL 2025 game against Kolkata. However, Dewald Brevis and Shivam Dube went on to frustrate Kolkata at Eden Gardens.

In the pursuit of chasing 180 runs, Devon Conway and Ayush Mhatre open the innings while Vaibhav Arora opens the bowling attack.

However, both openers were sent out on a duck with Arora dismissing Mhatre, while Conway was dismissed by Moeen Ali.

However, Urvil Patel created an impact scoring 31 runs off 11 deliveries. Harshit Rana dismissed Urvil Patel and Ashwin.

With the dismissal of Jadeja for 19 runs by Varun Chakravarthy, CSK lost five wickets for 60 runs.

However, Brevis made a solid contribution making a 30 runs in an over. He went on to slam 52 runs before being dismissed by Varun Chakravarthy in the 13th over.

Kolkata are playing their must-win game to keep their playoff chances alive.

Batting first, Rahmanullah Gurbaz and Sunil Narine opened KKR’s batting attack while Khaleel Ahmad opened the bowling attack.

Kamboj got the first breakthrough after dismissing Gurbaz for 11 runs. Ajinkya Rahane and Sunil Narine added 67 runs to the total in the powerplay.

Noor Ahmad delivered a magical over dismissing Angkrish Raghuvanshi and Sunil Narine in the 8th over of the match.

Jadeja brought a crucial breakthrough bagging the wicket of Rahane for 48. However, Andre Russell went on to aggressive scoring 38 runs off 21 deliveries which included 4 fours and 3 sixes.

But Noor Ahmad bagged his wicket in the 17th over which made Rinku Singh walk into the ground to finish the innings. But CSK spinner went on to bag his wicket for 9 runs while Manish Pandey went on to score 36 runs of 28 deliveries.

By the end of 20 overs, Kolkata Knight Riders went on to score 179 runs for 6 wickets.
