The Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium was hit by a drone launched by India on Thursday (May 8) hours before a Pakistan Super League (PSL) match, according to media reports.

Now, the PSL game between Karachi Kings and Peshawar Zalmi in Rawalpindi has been postponed, Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) said.
The T20 league, which features six franchises and is in its final stages, is currently being staged at the Pindi Stadium.
“The Pakistan Cricket Board, in consultation with all the stakeholders, has decided to reschedule tonight’s HBL PSL X match between Peshawar Zalmi and Karachi Kings. The PCB will announce the revised date in due course,” the cricket board said in a media statement.

Also, the PCB said it will reschedule some of the PSL matches. “The PCB is reviewing the situation and will be rescheduling some of the PSL matches,” the board said in a statement.
“Further updates will be provided as matters are finalised.”The development comes after Indian military strikes in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) under Operation Sindoor in retaliation for the April 22 terror attack in Pahalgam.
“One of the drones reportedly struck a food vendor area within the compound of Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium, which is currently hosting Pakistan Super League matches,” according to a report in Al Jazera.
The Pakistan Army on Thursday said its four soldiers were injured in a drone attack and claimed that armed forces shot down several UAVs launched by India.
In New Delhi, Indian military officials said the Indian armed forces foiled attempts by the Pakistani military to engage a number of military targets in Northern and Western India last night and destroyed a Pakistani air defence system in Lahore.
In Islamabad, Pakistan Army spokesman Lt Gen Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry said one drone crashed near Lahore and four soldiers sustained injuries as a result of the attack.
An official told PTI that at least four drones hit the Lahore cantonment area.
