Taking a big decision on IPL 2025, the tournament has been suspended for a week. This decision has been taken amid growing military tension between India-Pakistan. IPL Chairman Arun Dhumal has said that the match does not seem right to match the situation at the moment. In view of the situation in the coming days, a final decision will be taken on the remaining season.
The thrill was at its peak in IPL 2025, but now the tournament has a break for some time. The IPL has been suspended for a week on Friday. The reason for this is not a cricketing case, but an issue to the security of the country.
Actually, military tension between India and Pakistan has deepened and in view of this environment, BCCI has taken this decision. IPL chairman Arun Dhumal said in a conversation with CNN-NEWS18, “It was not appropriate to continue the tournament in the situation at the moment. So it was decided that we take a week’s break and then assess the situation and decide the strategy.”
He also informed that a week’s break has been taken after talks with all stakeholders. If needed, the entire season can also be suspended. Right now the whole country is united about this war, in such a situation we want to show our solidarity. Our priority is the country and our security forces.
In the next few days, the IPL Governing Council will review the situation and then it will be decided whether the tournament will go ahead or not. If the situation improves, the matches may start again. But if the stress increases further, the entire season of IPL 2025 can also be canceled.
