Former Indian cricketer Ambati Rayudu fell victim to social media on Thursday due to a tweet. Amidst the current stressful situation between India and Pakistan, Rayudu shared a post on his X (East Twitter) account in which he wrote, “The eye instead of the eye makes the whole world blind.” People strongly objected to this statement and alleged that Rayudu is not in support of the country’s military action.
This post came at a time when the country is watching a strong response against Pakistan under “Operation Sindoor”. In such a situation, Rayudu’s statement found people anti -national and insensitive. He deleted this tweet amid growing criticisms.
After deepening the controversy, Ambati Rayudu clarified on X, “I want to clarify my recent remarks made about the situation on the border, which has been misunderstood. I had no such intention and I want to clarify this.”
Ambati Rayudu further wrote, “In this sensitive time, I stand with our government under the decisive leadership of Honorable Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who is taking strict action through ‘Operation Sindoor’. I stand firmly with the Indian Army and understand the feelings of the countrymen completely.”
India and Pakistan were announced on May 10, where both countries agreed to the ceasefire. Announcing the media, the Indian government informed about the fact that this decision has been taken with the consent of both the countries.
