Delhi: According to the report by The Sydney Morning Herald, many international cricketers, who were participating in the Pakistan Super League (PSL), narrowly escaped a serious accident. These players left Pakistan through a chartered flight, and the airbase with which he took off a few hours later was attacked by India.

Players evacuated from chartered flight

On 9 May, a chartered flight with foreign cricketers left for Dubai from Noor Khan Airbase (Chaklala).

This airbase is about 10 km from Islamabad. The same night later India attacked this airbase of Pakistan by military targets.

The players present in the chartered flight included Australian cricketers Sean Abbott, Ben Dvarshuis, Ashton Turner and Mich Owen.

Peter Lovit, manager of Sean Abbott and Ben Divarshuis, said that both players are now safe in Dubai and will return to Sydney soon.

Lovit said, “The last 24 hours have been very stressful for the players. The organizers of PSL made a great effort to evacuate the players in odd circumstances.”

Significantly, the increasing tension between India and Pakistan has also had a direct impact on cricket. PSL has been postponed indefinitely, while the Indian Premier League (IPL) has been suspended for a week as a precaution.
