The IPL 2025 was stopped for a week due to Indo-Pak tension, but now the board is planning to resume it from 15 or 16 May. BCCI is preparing to hold the remaining 16 matches across the country, but Dharamshala has been excluded from this list.
On Friday (May 9) due to increasing stress on the Indo-Pak border, BCCI suspended IPL 2025 for a week with immediate effect. But now according to the Times of India report, the tournament can be resumed from 15 or 16 May. The board is currently talking to the security agencies as well as fixing the new schedule of the remaining 16 matches.
Board Secretary Devjit Saikia told the media that information about new dates and venue will be given soon. However, the TOI report has made it clear that the match will now be held across India, but Dharamshala is excluded from the list. The reason for this was not a recently there’s technical break, but a red alert released in Jammu, due to which the match between Punjab Kings and Delhi Capitals had to be stopped in the middle.
Foreign players were quite nervous during this entire incident. According to the report, the biggest concern of the players was about the airports. Foreign players were upset but their fear was about the closure of international airports more than the match. However, he listened to the franchisees carefully and also showed confidence in them. “
Currently, foreign players are returning to their country but BCCI will soon try to recall them so that the league can be completed without delay. Now franchises are also waiting when the board takes the final decision.
