The final of IPL 2025 can now be held in Ahmedabad (Ahmedabad) instead of Eden Gardens. The league was adjourned for a week due to tension on the Indo-Pak border. Now the tournament can start again from 16 or 17 May. At the same time, due to the possibility of rain, BCCI is considering shifting the final from Kolkata.,
The final of IPL 2025 may now be somewhere else in place of Kolkata. The final at the Eden Gardens was scheduled to be held as KKR won the title last season. But now due to weather and security, its place can be changed.
According to the PTI report, BCCI is considering the decision because the situation on the Indo-Pak border has deteriorated, and the other in Kolkata does not seem reliable.
In fact, on 9 May, BCCI suspended the IPL for a week. A total of 57 matches have been played and now only 12 league matches and 4 playoffs are left. The focus of BCCI is now on how to resume the tournament as soon as possible and all franchisees should be given updates to it.
BCCI Vice President Rajiv Shukla himself said, “No final decision has been taken yet. But we are constantly talking to franchisees, IPL chairman and everyone else so that the tournament can be resumed soon.”
Qualifier 1 and eliminator for the playoffs will be on their fixed venue, but Kolkata is now under threat to the final. According to sources, if there is a possibility of rain, the match will be shifted to Ahmedabad.
Another big update is that the tournament can now resume from Lucknow from 16 or 17 May. All teams have been given a message to recall their players.
While Lucknow is being prepared on one side, Delhi and Dharamshala will no longer host any match because the entire setup of IPL has been removed from there. BCCI Secretary Devjit Saikia has said that the approval of the government will also be taken and the next plan will be brought out only after negotiations with all stakeholders, franchise, broadcaster, sponsors and State Association.
