The IPL 2025 is set to resume next week across four venues, although the final list of locations is yet to be confirmed.

The resumed leg of the tournament will begin with the clash between Royal Challengers Bengaluru and Lucknow Super Giants.

However, there is a possibility of a venue change for the final due to weather concerns in Kolkata.

"IPL will restart next week, in four venues. The venues will be shortlisted soon, and the venues of the qualifier, eliminator and finals are likely to remain the same," a BCCI official was quoted as saying by ANI.

"The final venue could be changed as rain can affect the matches in Kolkata later, so this call will be taken accordingly," the official added.

When will the IPL 2025 resume again?

The IPL 2025 is likely to resume from May 17, after the completion of its one-week suspension. The opening match can also be a doubleheader to conclude the tournament within this month itself. The final will be played either on May 31 or June 1.

What are the Four Venues for IPL 2025?

Bengaluru, Hyderabad and Chennai are surely going to be the venues for the final part of the IPL 2025.

The fourth venue is also expected to be Kolkata, but it can be any other place in Southern India, with Vizag being a viable option.

This update comes after the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) suspended the tournament for a week on Friday, following safety concerns amid escalating regional tensions. The Punjab Kings vs Delhi Capitals fixture at Dharamshala's HPCA Stadium was halted midway during the first innings on Thursday, prompting an immediate evacuation of spectators and relocation of both teams to their hotel.

In an official release, BCCI secretary Devajit Saikia stated, "The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has decided to suspend the remainder of the ongoing IPL 2025 with immediate effect for one week.

Further updates regarding the new schedule and venues of the tournament will be announced in due course after a comprehensive assessment of the situation in consultation with relevant authorities and stakeholders."

"The decision was taken by the IPL Governing Council after due consultation with all key stakeholders following the representations from most of the franchisees, who conveyed the concern and sentiments of their players, and also the views of the broadcaster, sponsors and fans; while the BCCI reposes full faith in the strength and preparedness of our armed forces, the Board considered it prudent to act in the collective interest of all stakeholders," he further added.

But things have started to fall into places after the India and Pakistan ceasefire was announced. Amid the de-escalation of the tensions between the neighboring countries, IPL 2025 has been given the green signal for resumption.
