Rishabh Pant-led Delhi Capitals are currently on seventh in the points table tally. The won three matches out of eight in the ongoing season of Indian Premier League.

New Delhi: India legendary cricketer Sunil Gavaskar motivated Rishabh Pant after his franchise Delhi Capitals lost the Indian Premier League 2024 match 35 match against Sunrisers Hyderabad at Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi.

SRH scored a mammoth of 267 runs against DC which helped them to beat the hosts by 67 runs to register their fifth victory of the tournament. While chasing Rishabh Pant & Co. bundled out on 199 runs.

After the match DC skipper Pant was seen as disappointed during the post-match interaction explaining what went wrong, Gavaskar asked Pant to stay motivated.

“Rishabh, Sunil here. I have never seen you down, I don’t ever want to see you down. I want to just see a smile on your face. Never mind the result. Go ahead, because there are plenty of matches to come.”

This was the seventh loss for DC in the ongoing season of IPL. The franchise is currently on 7th on the points-table, while SRH surged to second with 10 points.

“The only thought process behind that was we thought there would be some dew but it didn’t come. I thought if we could restrict them to 220-230 we would be in with a chance. I think powerplay was the difference. We were just catching up throughout the match. That was the massive difference,” said Pant.

DC will now face Gujarat Titans for the 40th match of the tournament which will be played on April 24 at Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi.
