The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), on Monday, announced that the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025, will resume on May 17 after a eight-day pause amid escalating tensions between India and Pakistan.
The league was suspended a day after the game between Punjab Kings and Delhi Capitals on May 8 was postponed midway.
As the two South Asian nations agreed to a ‘full and immediate ceasefire’ on May 10, the BCCI expedited the process of resuming the IPL, eventually releasing the modified schedule on May 12.
Royal Challengers Bengaluru and Kolkata Knight Riders will play the first match when the league restarts on May 17, at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium.
