Delhi: The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 starts again from 17 May. After this announcement, Delhi Capitals (DC) has included Bangladesh fast bowler Mustafizur Rahman in the team for the remaining matches. He is associated with the team instead of Jack Fraser-Macgarck, who will no longer play in the tournament due to personal reasons.

Mustafizur joins DC

29 -year -old Mustafizur has been connected by Delhi to the team for Rs 6 crore. He has taken 61 wickets in 57 IPL matches so far. His economy rate is 8.14.

In the last season, he played nine matches for Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and took 14 wickets. He also took four wickets once. However, he was released by CSK after this and he was left unusual in the mega auction held in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia in December 2024.

Now he is going to play for Delhi Capitals once again. Prior to this, he has been a part of Delhi team in 2022 and 2023 as well. Then he took 9 wickets in 10 matches.

Mustafizur has a good T20 experience. Since 2015, he has taken 351 wickets in 281 T20 matches. Earlier this year, he was the highest 13 wicket bowler playing for Dhaka Capitals in Bangladesh Premier League (BPL).

At the same time, when we talk about Jack Fraser-Macgarck, he could score only 55 runs in 6 matches for Delhi. His average was 9.16 and the highest score was 38 runs.

Delhi Capitals is currently at the fifth position with 13 points in the points table. His net run rate is +0.362. The team’s performance has fallen slightly after winning the first four matches. Now the team will take on the Gujarat Titans captained by Shubman Gill at Arun Jaitley Stadium on 18 May and try to return to the top-4.
