Australian stars David Warner and Pat Cummins are set to return to Pakistan and Indiarespectively, to resume their commitments in PSL 10 and IPL 2025 as both leagues gear up to restart from May 17. The players had earlier flown back home after escalating India-Pakistan tensions led to a temporary suspension of both tournaments.

As per a report by Mail Online, Warner will rejoin Karachi Kings in Pakistan for the final leg of the PSL. The franchise currently sits second on the points table. Warner was part of the group of Australian cricketers evacuated from Pakistan amid security concerns, and reports suggest some players even left their luggage behind during the rushed exit.

On the IPL front, Pat Cummins will return to India to lead Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in their final three fixtures. Cummins’ manager Neil Maxwell confirmed the development, stating: “Pat has a responsibility as captain of the franchise and is looking at returning.”

While SRH is already out of the playoff race, Cummins’ return underscores the commitment of key overseas players despite geopolitical uncertainty. The franchise’s remaining matches are scheduled for May 19, 23, and 25.

Meanwhile, fellow Australians Josh Hazlewood (RCB) and Mitchell Starc (DC) are reportedly unlikely to return for the remainder of the IPL 2025 season.

With both PSL and IPL resuming this week, all eyes are on how the teams recalibrate their strategies with returning international players.
