Shafali Verma, Sneh Rana Returns to India Squad For England Tour

Shafali Verma and Sneh Rana have returned to T20Is as BCCI named the India squad for the upcoming white-ball tour of England, which begins on June 28.

The Women’s selection committee has included Women’s selection committee mark a return several familiar faces, few notable players have been omitted for the upcoming tour.

Meanwhile, fast bowler Renuka Singh and off-spinner Shreyanka Patil have missed out in the squad. Shafali Verma’s inclusion comes after an impressive outing with Delhi Capitals in the WPL 2025 where she amassed 304 runs from nine matches at a strike rate of 152.

Shafali was the fourth highest run-getter in the Women’s Premier League this year, behind Nat Sciver-Brunt, Ellyse Perry and Hayley Matthews, and the highest run scorer among Indians.

On the other hand, Wk-batter Yastika Bhatia has been sidelined since last November due to Wrist injury sustained during the Women’s Big Bash League also returned to the squad.

While India named a 15-member T20I team, the ODI squad consists of 16 players, and both the teams will be led by Harmanpreet Kaur who will be assisted by Smriti Mandhana.

Meanwhile Young opener Pratika Rawal who become the fastest batter in history to score 500 runs in women’s ODIs in the Tri Series in Sri Lanka recently, has been included in the 50-over side.

The tour will start with five T20Is followed by three ODIs at Southampton, London and Chester-le-street.
