Former India player Aakash Chopra believes that MS Dhoni will not retire from the Indian Premier League after the conclusion of the current season. He commented on the legendary cricketer during the GT vs LSG match at the Narendra Modi Stadium. There are speculations that the 43-year-old is going to walk away from the Chennai Super Kings, considering his fitness issues and age factor.

The five-time champions have failed to make it to the playoffs for the second consecutive year, and with Dhoni’s performance also going down, there is a possibility of him bidding adieu.

His batting order has been under scrutiny for the last few years. When the right-handed batter was accused of intentionally holding himself back during crunch moments, he promoted himself. However, it didn’t improve the performance of the franchise.

In the past, Dhoni has touched upon the subject of batting late. He didn’t hesitate to admit that his body was not the same as it used to be a few years ago, and he often urged his teammates to make sure that he was not made to run a lot between the wickets.

“MS Dhoni will return for the next season of the IPL. He will make a team that makes sure his batting comes in the 18th over. His batting came early this season. Dhoni has already started working on the team but Chennai will have to release players to add new to the squad,” Aakash Chopra said.

Sanjay Bangar heaped massive praise on Dhoni for his contributions. “He has given his life to CSK. He has done everything which was possible,” he said.
