Chennai Super Kings (CSK) batter Dewald Brevis took part in the Super Sixes challenge after his team’s IPL 2025 match against Gujarat Titans at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Sunday, May 25. The young South African launched a massive 114-meter six in the competition, showcasing his power-hitting skills.
Brevis, 22, wad brought in as a replacement for Gurjapneet Singh due to injury and played a key role in CSK’s dominant 83-run win over the Titans. Coming in at number five, Brevis blazed to 57 off 23 balls, including four fours and five sixes, helping CSK reach a total of 230 in their allotted 20 overs.
With the ball, Anshul Kamboj and Noor Ahmad claimed three wickets esch, ensuring the Titans were bowled out for 147. This win allowed CSK to end their challenging season on a positive note.
Brevis wrapped up the IPL 2025 season with 225 runs across six innings, maintaining an average of 37.50 and an impressive strike rate of 180. He is expected to be retained by CSK for the next season. However, given their disappointing performance, finishing at the bottom of the table, the management may make several changes ahead of the next campaign.
