Lucknow: Rajasthan Royals (RR) opener Yashasvi Jaiswal played an excellent century in the match played at Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur on Monday. Till now this season, the left-handed batsman's performance was lackluster and he could not touch the 50-run mark even once before this match. However, after scoring a brilliant century, former great Indian batsman Sunil Gavaskar asked Jaiswal a question which he could not answer. Yashasvi remained silent on this and could not say anything.

The left-handed batsman made a brilliant comeback in this match and led the team to victory by playing an unbeaten inning of 104 runs. This was the second century of his IPL career. Earlier, during the year 2023, he had scored a century against Mumbai Indians (MI) at Wankhede Stadium but Rajasthan had to face defeat in that match. However, when this star player once again scored a century against MI, Gavaskar asked him a strange question during the conversation in the post match presentation.

Gavaskar asked, “You have scored two centuries in the IPL so far and both have come against Mumbai. Apart from this, you come from Mumbai only. In such a situation, why don’t you score centuries against other teams?” Yashasvi did not have any answer to this question and he himself started feeling uncomfortable on this. Although the star batsman did not react to this, the 22-year-old talked about his poor form.

He said, “I was trying to do only what was good. Some days it is good, while some days it becomes bad. I wasn't thinking much about it. I want to thank all my senior players for the way they have supported me. I thank the team management of Rajasthan, Kumar Sangakkara and Sanju Samson for giving me continuous opportunities.”

If we talk about the match, in this match Mumbai Indians had decided to bat first and after that they had a very bad start and 4 wickets had fallen for 52 runs. However, young batsmen Tilak Verma and Nehal Wadhera played an important role in taking the team to a respectable score of 179.
