In IPL 2025, Punjab Kings have surprised everyone with their performance and made it to the playoffs after a decade. After defeating Mumbai Indians by eight wickets in Jaipur on Monday night, Punjab topped the points table for the first time after 2014. The team, led by Shreyas Iyer, won a total of 19 points by winning 9 out of 14 matches and will now clash with one of the Royal Challengers Bangalore or Gujarat Titans in Qualifier-1 on 29 May.
The pair of Punjab Kings coach Ricky Ponting and captain Shreyas Iyer have also reached Delhi Capitals for the first time in 2020. Now the pair has completely changed the team culture in Punjab too. All -rounder Shashank Singh, who was retained in the team before the season, said in the post match press conference, “Ponting and Iyer made it clear on the first day that the team would be treated with equal respect with everyone – whether it is Yuzvendra Chahal or team bus driver.”
Shashank Singh, while praising the thinking of the captain and the coach, said that he has completely changed the mentality of the team, faith and a sense of respect for each other. He said, “He changed the attitude of watching our game. It is easy to say that he will give equal respect to everyone, but he showed it.” The great credit for this change of Punjab goes to this leadership pair, which united a scattered team and assured them to be the winner again.
The IPL 2025 journey for Punjab Kings has been amazing where he has done well this season. After 2014, for the first time, he has been able to qualify Plyof’s loye and that is why his fans look quite happy. This IPL 2025 season has also been good for Shashank Singh.
