PBKS vs MI Probable Playing 11: Shreyas Iyer-led Punjab Kings will square off against Hardik Pandya-led Mumbai Indians in Qualifier 02 of the IPL 2025 season on May 31 at Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad.
Both sides will meet in a nail-biting clash. The winner will advance to the summit clash against the Royal Challengers Bengaluru.
Punjab lost their previous game against Bengaluru in a low-scoring encounter, while Mumbai will be coming in confident after defeating Gujarat Titans in the Eliminators game.
According to Accuweather, the weather will be fine in the morning but the rain is likely to play part in the second innings of the match. Wind will be gusting at 44 km/hr and there’s an 8% probability of a thunderstorm.
In case of the rain affected game, Punjab Kings will progress to the final by virtue of finishing above Mumbai in the league stage.
The Narendra Modi Stadium Pitch has favoured batters this season, but spinners could have some advantage after the powerplay. The bowlers will enjoy if the pitch on offer is a red soil wicket, which will help them in generating extra bounce, which isn’t the case in the black soil surface.
The surface also has some bounce for pacers. However, dew might make difference in the second innings.
