Delhi: In the second qualifier of IPL 2025 against Mumbai Indians (Mi) at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, captain Shreyas Iyer played a brilliant innings for Punjab Kings (PBKS) and chased the target of 204 runs to reach the finals of IPL 2025 by chasing a target of 204 runs. He scored 87* runs in 41 balls, including 5 fours and 8 sixes.
Iyer started the captaincy in the IPL for the Delhi Capitals (DC) in the 2018 season and in 2020 he took the team to the final, where he was runner -up. He captained Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in 2022 and 2024 and won Kolkata last year under his captaincy.
Now Iyer has become the fourth such captain in the world by taking Punjab Kings in the final of IPL 2025, who has played two consecutive IPL finals. He is also the first captain to play two consecutive finals with two different teams. Not only this, he has also become the first captain to bring three different teams to the finals of IPL.
