RCB vs PBKS: The summit clash between Royal Challengers Bengaluru and Punjab Kings will crown a new champion in IPL history.
Neither team has won the IPL title before, this will be the first time since 2016 that the IPL final will be contested by two teams that are yet to win the tournament.
Qualifier 1 was also between RCB and PBKS, but it was a heavily one-sided affair in Mullanpur. Josh Hazlewood and Suyash Sharma led the bowling efforts as Punjab’s batting kept collapsing.
No one other than Marcus Stoinis could put up a real fight, and PBKS were even forced to use their Impact player to bring in a batsman despite batting first.
Phil Salt made a quickfire fifty to bring a swift end to a short contest. Punjab Kings took their second opportunity to make the IPL 2025 final with both hands as they beat Mumbai Indians in the second qualifier.
The Narendra Modi Stadium Pitch has favoured batters this season, but spinners could have some advantage after the powerplay. The bowlers will enjoy if the pitch on offer is a red soil wicket, which will help them in generating extra bounce, which isn’t the case in the black soil surface.
The surface also has some bounce for pacers. However, dew might make difference in the second innings.
Bengaluru and Punjab has met on 36 occasions where RCB and PBKS has won on 18 times each but considering this season, Royal Challengers Bengaluru has two out of three wins.
