Delhi: England have announced their 14 -member team for the first match of the Test series between India and England starting on 20 June. The team will be captained by all -rounder Ben Stokes.

Fast bowler Gas Etkinson has been dropped from the team due to an injury to Hamstring. Jamie Overn has been included in the team in his place. Overtan has played only one Test match so far in Leeds against New Zealand in June 2022. After three years, he has returned to the Test team. Although the oven is currently struggling with finger injury, but it is believed that they will be fully fit before the first Test.

More changes in England team

England have also given Jacob Bethel, Chris Woakes and Bridan Cars a place in the team. These three players last played Tests on New Zealand tour in December 2024. Recently, all three did not play in the Test match played by England against Zimbabwe.

The first Test between India and England will be played in Leeds from 20 June. This series is very important for both teams as it will be played under the World Test Championship.
