Delhi: So finally Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) won the IPL with Virat Kohli. It is considered to be a major victory of Virat Kohli along with this team as he is the only player to play for the same franchise every season in 18 seasons of IPL. That is why it became such a victory that after the last ball, almost every camera in the stadium was towards him and no one focused on Shashank Singh played an amazing innings.

With the victory of RCB, many records were made, but there were some big specials:

  • After 18 years, 285 matches, 10 playoffs and 4 finals, RCB won the IPL Trophy.
  • In the successful journey of this season, many records were made, but the most important thing is that he became the first team to win all his ‘Away’ matches. CSK in Chepock, KKR in Eden Gardens and defeating Mumbai Indians in Wankhede in the same season are not a minor record.
  • After 17 years, CSK in Chepock, 10 years later, Mumbai in Wankhede, 7 years later, Delhi Capitals in Delhi and 6 years later, against KKR at Eden Gardens.
  • Played in the fourth IPL final. Earlier, he played finals in 2009, 2011 and 2016, while after 2016, he won the qualifier 1 and played the final. So after 9 years, the IPL reached the finals and after 9 years, the points were in the top 2 in the table.
  • Rajat Patidar equalized Rohit Sharma’s record of winning the first IPL trophy after the captaincy of just 13 matches. In the record of winning the first trophy, there are many big names after them: Shane Warne/Hardik Pandaya 15 matches, Adam Gilchrist 24, David Warner 33, MS Dhoni 43, Gautam Gambhir 47 and Shreyas Iyer 70 matches.
  • This trophy did not come from the performance of any one player. See:
  • For the first time, 10 different players of a team scored 50+ in a season.
  • For the first time, 9 different players of RCB (Krunal, Patidar, David, Hazelwood, Kohli, Salt, Jitesh, Shepherd, Suyash) won the Man of Match Award in the same season. In a season, only Mumbai Indians (in 10 – 2017) are above the records of a team more than a team in a season and then Krunal, Nitish, Bumrah, Butler, McLenaghan, Pollard, Rayudu, Karna, Rohit and Simmons won the awards. Coincidentally, Krunal Pandya is named in both these records.
  • Andy proved to be the lucky coach of the Flower Team and if we talk about T20 (including franchise league), then different teams have won the World T20 (2010), PSL (2021) and ILT20 (2023) earlier with them.
  • This victory of RCB means that the captain who won the IPL Trophy in a consecutive season is only MS Dhoni (2010 and 2011) and Rohit Sharma (2019 and 2020).
  • This time in the playoffs, not playing with Mumbai Indians was lucky for RCB because whenever a team knocked out Mumbai Indians, he could not win the trophy in that season. RCB in 2011, CSK in 2012 and 2014, Gujarat Titans in 2023 and this time Punjab Kings defeated Mumbai Indians but could not win the trophy in that season.
