She appeared visibly emotional following PBKS’s defeat to Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in a high-intensity final on Tuesday, June 3. Her heartfelt words resonated deeply with the cricketing community, reflecting both the pain of the loss and her immense pride in the team’s incredible journey this season.

Preity Zinta reflects on Punjab Kings’ grit and glory

Preity took to X to express pride in PBKS’s  journey despite the final loss. She highlighted the team’s resilience, praising their fight, grit, and the leadership of their captain Shreyas Iyer. Zinta applauded the performance of Indian uncapped players and acknowledged the team’s ability to adapt through a challenging season dealing with injuries, national call-ups, mid-season interruptions, venue changes, and even evacuating a stadium in Dharamshala. She celebrated their record-breaking achievements and topping the points table after a decade, calling the campaign exciting, inspiring, and memorable.

“It didn’t end the way we wanted it to but….the journey was spectacular ! It was exciting, entertaining & it was inspiring. I loved the fight & the grit our young team, our shers (Lions) showed throughout the tournament. I loved the way our captain, our Sarpanch lead from the front & how Indian uncapped players dominated this IPL ! This year was unique. We smashed records even though we lost key and players to injury & national duty, witnessed a pause in the tournament, transferred home games to other states & evacuated a stadium ! We adapted & topped the points table after a decade & fought till the end in an exciting final,” she wrote.

Preity also thanks fans and vows a stronger comeback next season

Preity Zinta expressed deep pride in all the Punjab players for their commitment and character throughout IPL 2025. She extended heartfelt thanks to the team, support staff, and the entire PBKS management for their efforts during an incredible season. Most importantly, she showed immense gratitude to the “Sher Squad” (the fans )— acknowledging their unwavering support through highs and lows. Preity credited the team’s progress to the fans’ loyalty and love, promising that the team will return stronger next season to complete their unfinished mission.
