Sachin Tendulkar is considered the greatest batter of all time. He registered 100 international centuries during his long career. The legendary cricketer smashed 49 toms in one-day internationals, while he hit 51 in Test cricket. Although Virat has surpassed Sachin’s record in the fifty-over format, it will be tough for any batter to amass 51 hundred or go past in a five-day format.
Former India player Navjot Singh Sidhu compared Chennai Super Kings captain Ruturaj Gaikwad with Sachin. The new captain of CSK played two cover drives on Mohsin Khan’s deliveries. The result was boundaries, and the opener was lauded by Sidhu.
“The way Ruturaj Gaikwad plays and hits shots reminds me of Sachin Tendulkar. He is a special talent, who will become a big names in the near future,” Navjot Singh Sidhu said on Star Sports.
Gaikwad hit a hundred in IPL 2024 between CSK and Lucknow Super Giants. He batted superbly against the pacers and spinners after losing the toss. Ruturaj faced 56 balls to reach 103 runs, with the help of 11 fours and 3 sixes.
He was given the leadership responsibility by MS Dhoni, who left the post a day before the start of the season.
