The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced that the South Africa test has been shifted from Delhi to Kolkata, with the Arun Jaitley to host the 2nd test vs West Indies.

BCCI has announced India’s home season where the Men in Blues will be hosting West Indies, South Africa and South Africa A. When the board announced the schedule, concerns were raised about the safety of hosting a Test match in Delhi during November, due to the city’s pollution issues in winter.

However, BCCI secretary Devajit Saikia has dismissed those concerns, stating that pollution in Delhi is not a problem.

India will be facing the West Indies in two tests in October before hosting South Africa for two tests, three ODIs and five T20Is spread across November and December.

The second test against West Indies was originally slated to be held at Kolkata’s Eden Gardens from October 10 but now has been moved to New Delhi with the dates remained unchanged.

The first test against South Africa, slated to be played in India’s captial from November 14, has been moved to Kolkata.

“The 2nd Test against the West Indies, originally slated for Kolkata, will now be held at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi. Meanwhile, the 1st Test against South Africa, starting November 14, 2025, has been shifted from New Delhi to Eden Gardens in Kolkata,” the BCCI said in a statement

In September, the Indian women’s cricket team will host Australia for three ODIs. With the renovations of the outfield and pitches at the M.A. Chidambaram Stadium, the three-match series has been relocated with the first two matches will be played in the New PCA Stadium in New Chandigarh while the final ODI will be played in New Delhi.

The last test match at the Arun Jaitley Stadium was held in February 2023, when India defeated Australia by six wickets. The previous test at the venue, played in December 2017 against Sri Lanka, was marred by controversy after Sri Lankan players complained of breathing difficulties due to poor air quality.
