Delhi: Australia captain Pat Cummins is quite excited before the ICC World Test Championship (WTC) collides with South Africa in the final of 2025. He said that playing the final of the ICC against another team would be a new experience. India and Australia are definitely two best Test teams in the world. But, this time India’s dream was broken by Australia by defeating the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, and South Africa surprised everyone and made it to the finals.
The WTC 2025 final will be played from June 11 at the historic Lord’s ground in London. While Australia is considered a strong contender, captain Pat Cummins is not in the mood to take South Africa lightly.
32-year-old Cummins told The Guardian, “To some extent you hope that India will be in the final. England have been strong at home and New Zealand often reaches the finals. But, the same applies to South Africa, especially in ICC events. We do not see them much in Test cricket, so it is not different and new from India-Australia finals.”
Pat Cummins praised Keshav Maharaj
The Australia captain appreciated South Africa and also took the name of his spinner Keshav Maharaj, who can prove to be a big challenge for him.
Right -handed pace said, “It is difficult to say, because a lot is unknown. We have not played much Tests against him in recent years, but if a team reaches the final, then it is completely balanced. Their bowling has always been strong and the same situation is still. Keshav Maharaj is a great spinner and there is no shortage of fast bowlers.”
