Penultimate to the England tour, the senior players of the Test Team India, Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli, announced their retirements from red-ball cricket.
Because of this, the BCCI decided to appoint Shubman Gill as the fresh captain of Test cricket. Before the five-Test series, Gill has now come up with a big statement with regards to what he observed in the captaincy of Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli.
"The kind of environment Rohit bhai created, because of that even if he is abusing you, you will not take it to heart.
This is his personality. I think this is his specialty and he is firm. He may be strict on you but you know that it is not from his heart but from the point of view of the team." Gill said about Rohit Sharma."It seems that Rohit bhai is not that aggressive but he is very aggressive. The communication is very clear under his captaincy. Before the series, during the series and after the series, he tells everything to the players and talks to them." He added.
Gill on Virat Kohli
"When I used to play under Virat bhai, I think his thoughts and his thinking during the test match are something that I really liked.
During the match, if a plan doesn't work, he immediately makes another plan and tells the bowler what he has to do." Gill said about Virat KohliIndia Vs England
Team India has already toured in England 19 times and has only been able to win the Test series three times. Team India had not been able to win the series in England even after 18 years and the last time India won the Test series in England was with the leadership of Rahul Dravid. Now, because of which, Gill would want to ensure India to win the Test series in England after a period of 18 years.
