Delhi: Ireland fast bowler Liam Macarthi has made an unwanted record. He has set a ’embarrassing’ record of becoming the second most expensive bowler in T20 international history. In the match played against the West Indies in Bridi, Macarthi took 81 runs in his 4 -over quota and could not take a single wicket. His economy rate was 20.25, which proves to be very expensive for any bowler.
In this match, the West Indies batsmen targeted Macarthi fiercely and rained fours and sixes in every over. The line and length of McCarti were seen to be completely deteriorated and they did not get any relief.
Joberthe’s name is the most expensive spell
Earlier, the record of the most expensive spell in T20I is named after Gambia bowler M Joberteh, who scored 93 runs in 4 overs in Nairobi against Zimbabwe on 23 October 2024.
Sri Lankan player broke a big record
Macarthi’s name has now been recorded second in this shameful list, while S Sri Lanka’s C Rajita is in third place, who spent 75 runs against Australia in 2019. Paer of Ireland has now broken Rajita’s record.
Talking about the match, the West Indies lost 5 wickets in 20 overs and scored a huge score of 256 runs, in which the Windies batsmen together hit 20 sixes.
