With Team India gearing up for a tough five-match Test series against England starting June 20 in Leeds, their intra-squad match in Beckenham offered valuable insights into player form. However, for Travel Giikwadit proved to be another missed opportunity. The opening batter was dismissed for a duck, further extending his string of underwhelming performances in red-ball cricket.
As per reports, Gaikwad struggled once again with the bat, enduring a poor outing and getting dismissed for a duck. Meanwhile, other batters shown glimpse of brilliance especially Sarfaraz khanthe right-hander scored a brilliant hundred before getting retired hurt. Abhimanyu Easwaran scored 39, Sai Sudharsan scored , Washington Sundar batted twice and scored a duck and 35, Ishan kishan made 45 runs not out.
Meanwhile earlier , Shubman Gill and Kl satisfied impressed with the bat, both scoring solid half-centuries. On the bowling front, Mohammed Siraj and Prasidh Krishna managed to pick up a few wickets. However, Jasprit bumrah going wicketless has raised slight concerns among fans. His form will be closely monitored in the coming days.
