Shubman gill century: By the end of the first day of the second Test match being played between India and England, the Indian team has scored 310 runs at the loss of 5 wickets. Shubman Gill, who was captaining in this match, came under pressure and scored a brilliant century and took over the team.
After completing the century, Shubman Gill’s celebration was worth watching. He kissed the bat, roared strongly and expressed that he had come to fulfill this new responsibility well. With this century, he made many big records and also joined Virat Kohli’s ‘Elite List’.
Shubman Gill, playing the captaincy innings in the second Test against England, completed his century in 199 balls. By the end of the first day’s play, Gill returned unbeaten after scoring 114 runs in 216 balls. His innings included 12 magnificent fours.
This is Gill’s first series as a Test captain and has done wonders by scoring a century in two consecutive Test matches. He has become the fourth captain of India to score a century in the first two matches of the Test captaincy. Earlier this achievement has been named after Sunil Gavaskar, Vijay Hazare and Virat Kohli.
Shubman Gill has become India’s third batsman to score a century in two consecutive Tests against England. Also, he has also become the first Indian player to score a century twice in England on the first day. This young batsman once again proved with his game and confidence that he is not the future of Indian cricket, not the present.
India started batting after losing the toss, but KL Rahul quickly returned to the pavilion. After this, Yashasvi Jaiswal and Karun Nair handled the innings. Apart from Shubman Gill’s century, Yashasvi played a strong innings of 87 runs. Ravindra Jadeja is also unbeaten by scoring 41 runs.
