Shubman gill record: The five -match Test series between Team India and England has now reached a thrilling turn. The third match of the series will be played from July 10 at the historic Lord’s ground in London, where Indian captain Shubman Gill will have a big record to name him.

If Gill scored only 18 runs in this match, then he will become the Indian batsman to score the most runs in a Test series in England. So far, he has scored 585 runs in just four innings of two matches, including a double century and a century.

Rahul Dravid’s record in danger

So far, Rahul Dravid has a record of scoring the most runs in one Test series in England. Dravid scored 602 runs in six innings in 2002, too at an average of about 100. After him, Virat Kohli’s name comes in this list, who scored 593 runs in 10 innings in 2018.

Gill is very close to these two veterans and he will reach the top in this list as soon as he scored 18 runs in Lord’s Test. Sunil Gavaskar has also scored 542 runs in the 1979 series, but Gill has already left him behind.

Third Indian captain to score a century in both innings

Shubman Gill is not only scoring runs but is also creating history as captain. In the Edgbaston Test, he scored a double century in the first innings and also a century in the second. He has become only the third captain of India to score a century in both innings of the Test match after Virat Kohli and Sunil Gavaskar.

Kohli did this feat against Australia in the Adelaide Test in 2014, while Gavaskar hit a century in both innings in the Kolkata Test against the West Indies in 1978.
