KL Rahul scored a hundred in the first innings of the fourth Test against England. It is his second century of the ongoing five-match Test series and 10th of his red-ball career. He accumulated a fifty on Day 2 of the match and completed his ton on the next day. He shared 100-plus partnership with Rishabh Pant, who was run-out after scoring 74. Rahul also departed after scoring a ton.
England posted 387 in their first attempt, with Joe Root hitting a hundred. He has 37 centuries in the longest format of the game. Jasprit Bumrah took five wickets for the sub-continent nation.
