Instead of dwelling on the overall performance, he emphasised Jadeja’s composure and intelligent shot selection, which stood in stark contrast to others who failed to deliver when it mattered.

Former England batter Jonathan Trott looked back on the nerve-wracking conclusion of the third Test in the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy, where the pressure reached its highest point on the final day. Both India and England were pushing hard to go 2-1 up in the five-match series.

Now serving as Afghanistan’s men’s head coach, Trott expressed his excitement over the intense competition between the two sides. “It was incredibly tense nail-biting stuff. I’m not sure I’ve got any nails left! It’s unfortunate how the game ended, but someone had to come out on top,” Trott said during his appearance on JioHotstar.

“I think this is great for Test cricket. As long as the teams maintain good relations off the field and there’s no carry-over into the fourth Test, everything’s fine. It’s been fiercely contested, and I can’t wait to see who prevails,” he added

Trott praised Ravindra  Jadeja for his measured approach, balancing caution with intent, which gave India a real shot at the challenging fourth-innings chase. Instead of dwelling on the overall performance, he emphasised Jadeja’s composure and intelligent shot selection, which stood in stark contrast to others who failed to deliver when it mattered.

“I think Jadeja played incredibly well. I don’t see the point in over-analysing him. He manoeuvred himself and the team excellently. He’s battled, left well, and had a bit of luck. The ball was spinning away, and yes, there was temptation to attack Bashir. But had he slogged and gotten out, we’d be saying he threw it away,” he concluded.
